DR GLENN PEARCE - BIOGRAPHY
Before becoming a ventriloquist, Glenn has enjoyed a distinguished career as a full-time university lecturer with Western Sydney University.
In education, Glenn is rated one of the most innovative marketing educators in Australasia by virtue of his receipt of numerous awards and prizes. These honours include: the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) 2009 Australian Award for University Teaching; ANZMAC Marketing Educator of the Year in 2005; and a 2007 Carrick Institute (national) teaching citation for innovation in teaching through drama and puppetry.
Apart from his undergraduate qualifications in agriculture, Glenn has a post graduate diploma in university teaching from the University of New South Wales, a Masters in Marketing from Lancaster University (UK) and a Doctorate in education from the University of Technology, Sydney. Glenn’s doctoral studies investigated ways that adults can learn about marketing through the conventions of drama and theatre. As a legacy of this work, he has taught university marketing units and conducted corporate seminars through drama, including the use of puppetry/ventriloquism.
As an entertainer, Glenn was mentored in ventriloquism by the great Chris Kirby and his sidekick - Terry, who are regarded as one the greatest ventriloquism acts of all time. Glenn is also a graduate from the famous Maher Studios (US) course in ventriloquism.
Furthermore, Glenn has written and performed his own brand of comedy for Sydney radio and delivered countless conference presentations, so he knows what it takes to communicate and make people laugh.
All in all, Glenn combines the skills of a qualified university educator, professional speaker, hands-on marketer, drama in learning practitioner, comedy writer and puppeteer/ventriloquist to make events/shows/presentations fun, engaging and memorable.
Glenn’s flawless ventriloquial technique, backed-up with colourful puppet characters, good natured humour and audience friendly communication is an experience not to be missed.
